Before World Conference, there is a 3 day event called International Leaders Meeting (ILM), with representatives from the global church. This year, I was invited to attend on behalf of Australia, together with Annie, Julie, Meredith and Dennis. ILM is a true representation of the international nature of Community of Christ.

When we said goodbye to regular meetings and closed the doors at the Hughesdale congregation, it was sad. It wasn’t surprising, though. The next generation was no less spiritual…

I must say I haven’t needed to use an axe very often in my life.  With all the modern conveniences available to me, such as gas barbeques to cook and radiators and air conditioning for heat, I have had no reason to use an axe to chop wood to make a fire to either cook or keep warm.

However, it has been very different….

We have just celebrated another Mothers’ Day. Each year I remember my own mother. Winifred was a wonderful inspiration to me, academically, socially and theologically. She died of cancer two decades ago at the age I am rapidly approaching.
