Reflection on the Victoria Women's Retreat by Meredith Carr

The Victoria Women’s Retreat at Kallara was a time of renewal and deep connection. Being together in that setting gave us space to pause, to step away from daily routines, and to allow our spirits to be refreshed. The theme, Thrive and Shine, encouraged us to explore what truly helps us to flourish and find balance in our lives, not in the sense of doing more or becoming perfect, but in allowing ourselves to be sustained and lifted by community, creativity, and shared care.

Through conversation, meals, quiet reflection, and moments of joy, we discovered that thriving often comes in the simplest forms: listening, encouraging, laughing together, or sitting side by side in silence. We also practiced introspection, paying attention to what we are feeling and needing. This awareness is an important step in finding balance, creating space for growth, and opening ourselves to the Spirit’s gentle leading.

I found it especially meaningful to witness the strength of lifelong friendships and to begin building my own among this circle of women. Kallara became sacred ground for me too, a place where connection deepened and where we lifted each other up with honesty, laughter, and love. In that space we found nourishment for our spirits, courage to carry forward, and a renewed sense that we are sustained by community.

As we return to daily life, we carry with us the experience of what it means to thrive together: to create spaces where all are welcomed, where friendships are nurtured, and where we help one another discover the joy that comes from belonging. This retreat continues to echo in my heart as a reminder that when we hold each other with kindness and encouragement, our light grows brighter, and we discover the strength to shine.

With gratitude,
