Water and Spirit Classes

If you want to learn more about the church (or want your children to learn a little more), or are thinking of being baptised, this class series is for you. Together, we’ll explore theology, scripture, beliefs, and what makes us who we are in Community of Christ.

Get in contact with Kass Unger to undertake the Water and Spirit Classes (prebaptismal series). These prebaptismal classes will run as two series in the second half of 2025 for children and youth, and early 2026 for adults. The intent of the series is not a commitment to baptism, but simply learning more about Community of Christ and gaining the ability to make an educated and informed decision about becoming baptised.

Additionally, if you are interested in learning how to lead these classes, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kids: Age 8 - Year 6

  • Where: Online on Zoom 

  • When: Sundays 4pm-5pm OR Tuesdays 5pm-6pm (AEST Term 3/AEDT Term 4)

  • Term: 12 weeks

    • 6 weeks in Term 3

      • Sundays 17th August - 21st September OR Tuesdays 19th August - 23rd September

    • 6 weeks in Term 4

      • Sundays 19th October, 16th November-14th December OR Tuesdays 4th November - 16th December

  • The intent of Sunday AND Tuesday classes is that you would commit to the day that works best for you, but there is the potential to do a make on the alternate day if needed. Both classes would be working at the same pace, starting on the Sunday and then repeated on the Tuesday. They may vary slightly depending on the main age groups attending on particular days.

  • I will be sending out resources and further co-ordination, so please let me know if your child/children are planning on attending.

  • Please note that younger ones may need some assistance, so please be prepared to help them if needed. I recognize Zoom isn’t always as child friendly as we would like.

 Youth: Year 7 - 18 years old

  • Where: Online on Zoom

  • When: Sunday 8pm-9.30pm (AEST Term 3/AEDT Term 4)

  • Term: 7 weeks

    • 2 weeks Term 3

      • Sundays 14th September and 21st September

    • 5 weeks Term 4

      • Sundays 12th and 26th October, 9th and 23rd of November, 7th of December

  • The expectation is that youth would be making the majority of sessions, completing ‘homework’ tasks, and making up anything they miss.
