On my recent trip to Victoria, I experienced hospitality woven together with generosity and care. I noticed it in the simple kindness of a cup of tea offered before I even thought to ask, in the generosity of meals that drew us into fellowship, in the quiet space provided when work needed attention, and in the unhurried conversations that lingered long after the day’s events. Every new connection came with a spirit of welcome that left me thankful for the relationships we are building together.
What touched me most was the willingness of people to share openly and honestly. Whether gathered at a table, riding in the car, or sharing together after a time of worship, we celebrated joys, acknowledged challenges, and envisioned a future together. These were deep and meaningful conversations that created space for trust, for mutual listening, and for discerning how the Spirit is calling us forward.
In many of the conversations I sensed resilience and hope, along with an awareness that our strength grows out of the relationships we nurture. These are the ties that steady us through change and give us courage for the future. Once again it became clear to me that our shared faith finds its fullest expression when people choose to walk together with care and trust.
I returned from Victoria with gratitude for the friendships that are being formed and for the Spirit that weaves us together. I will continue to treasure the warmth of hospitality I received and the shared sense of belonging that grew between us. My prayer is that the same spirit of welcome and connection will continue to shape our life together as a community of disciples.
Thank you to each person who welcomed me so warmly. Your hospitality is a living testimony of Christ’s love.
With gratitude,
