CPlus Camp 2025 brought together young people and leaders from across Australia, joined this year by eighteen guests from the Sierra Pacific Mission Centre in California. Over six days, friendships blossomed, laughter echoed, and faith deepened as hearts and cultures came together in shared purpose. From energetic games to quiet evening worship by the fire, each moment spoke of belonging, love, and God’s presence in community.
Following Kass Unger’s reflection on the heart of CPlus Camp, we now turn to the voices of campers and staff from Australia and the U.S., whose shared experiences bring that vision to life. Their stories capture the friendships, faith, and moments of meaning that made this week so memorable.
Milly Ferrett, Australian camper -
As a camper of nearly 8 years, camp is my favourite place. CPlus this year was absolutely spectacular, especially with the Americans! One of my highlights was definitely campfire. We sang songs and connected in such a beautiful way. I also really enjoyed getting to know all of the Americans and making so many new friends. Another very special moment from camp was communion. It's just such a beautiful thing, and I look forward to it every year. I also just love being able to reconnect with my Australian youth friends who I don’t get to see as often as I would like. Camp helps me feel so connected with God because it lets me disconnect with the real world for a week and just be with youth like me who love God the way that I do. My words for someone who is thinking of coming to camp is that you should definitely come. It is such a wonderful experience with memories that last a lifetime. You will make so many friends that you will keep close to your heart forever!
Maklean Woodward, Australian camper -
The highlight for me was creating long-lasting memories with the friends I’ve already made, and making new friends with the amazing Americans who joined us this year. I found that all the activities were great and helped me grow spiritually. It definitely met the expectations of a combined camp. It was amazing to see the different cultures come together. Plus my team was cracked at all the games, I loved playing the sports with them! I always find it hard to leave!
Jessica Hudson, U.S. staff member -
The trip was the greatest adventure that Dean and I have ever done and maybe ever will. I will always be grateful for such an amazing experience with such wonderful people.
Lauren Bolt, U.S. staff member -
The Australia trip was such an incredible experience. From the breathtaking views to the new friendships and endless laughter, every day brought something memorable. It was amazing to watch our group grow closer and see everyone step out of their comfort zones in such a positive way. I came home with a full heart, lots of photos, and memories that will stick with me for a long time!
Arull Naidu, U.S. camper -
Best trip ever😸
Amelie Woodward, Australian Leader in Training -
The annual Community Plus Youth Camp was even bigger and better this year, thanks to an awesome group of Californian youth who joined us. For me, simply having the company of this group was a highlight. Sharing culture around a campfire, over meals and during spare time was such a joy. Building international connections and strengthening existing connections was a highlight of camp, and I know that each camper came away with new friends and bonds for life. From archery and kickball, to bracelet and candle making, to singing and S’mores eating, each activity was full of fun, laughter, connection and the chance to reset. Being an LIT (Leader in Training) this year gave me a new perspective on camp, allowing me to give back and be one of the adults making camp a welcoming and fun place. It also made me appreciate the time I had as a camper, and I cannot stress enough how much these camps have impacted me. If you know any high school aged youth, get them along to camp next year!
