Celebrating the Power of Communities at IDAHOBIT

What is IDAHOBIT?

IDAHOBIT stands for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia. Celebrated each year on May 17, it’s a global day of recognition and solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people around the world. The day raises awareness about the discrimination and violence still faced by many in these communities, while also celebrating love, identity, and the power of inclusion.

IDAHOBIT 2025 turned out to be a wonderful day! The sun shone, the crowds came, and the sausages sizzled! The theme for Idahobit 2025 was ‘Power of Communities’ and we saw this theme in action last Saturday at Regatta Park. The Western Sydney Rainbow Community came together in all its diversity to create a fun filled day of togetherness. Thankyou to all who participated, supported and helped to make this day truly magic. By the way, Saturday was meant to be cloudy and rainy, so we are thankful for the weather prayers that were answered.
