As National Volunteer Week 2025 concludes, we would like to take a moment to offer heartfelt thanks to each and every person who serves in our Community of Christ family. Whether you contribute your time in a congregation, at a campsite, on a board, in a ministry team, or simply through everyday acts of kindness, you are part of what makes our community vibrant, inclusive, and Spirit-led.
This year’s theme, Connecting Communities, reflects what you all already do so well: create spaces of belonging, offer your gifts generously and help others experience the love of God in real and meaningful ways.
Across Australia, congregations have gathered for morning teas and moments of appreciation. Although National Volunteer Week has ended, the impact of your service continues, as does our gratitude. You are the heart of Christ’s mission.
As we look forward to what lies ahead, we have been reminded of the words in Doctrine and Covenants 162:8c:
“Continue your journey, O People of the Restoration. You have been blessed thus far, but there is so much yet to see, so much yet to do. Go forth with confidence and live prophetically as a people who have been loved, and who now courageously choose to love others in the name of the one you serve. Amen."
May you continue to serve with joy and confidence, knowing your efforts matter more than you know.
With deep gratitude,
The Australian Mission Centre
