Hello! I’m Calee Loughran, and I am thrilled to join the Australian Community of Christ team as Communications Coordinator.
I grew up in the U.S. where I attended a small Community of Christ congregation in rural Oklahoma. I developed a deep spiritual foundation through Sunday church, youth and family camps each summer, and eventually attending Graceland University. My husband Allister Loughran and I met at Graceland, and we spent 13 years in the U.S. before relocating to Melbourne last June with our two daughters. Our girls are enjoying time with their Aussie family and have settled in wonderfully, now thriving in Grade 2 and Grade 5.
At Graceland University, I pursued a double major in English Education and Publications Design. After graduation, I dedicated several years to teaching English, fostering a love for literature and communication in my students. I then transitioned to working from home as an independent bookseller, which allowed me to merge my passion for literacy with entrepreneurial spirit. Now, as my family and I embark on this new chapter in Australia, I am eager to channel my skills and creative interests into the role of Communications Coordinator.
Much thought and prayer went into my decision to pursue this position, and I have felt the loving support of my family, both in Australia and in the U.S., throughout this process. My grandmother was the first in her family to join the RLDS church at sixteen, and though she passed away last July, I continue to feel her gentle guidance as I step into this role.
As a lifelong member of the Community of Christ, I am deeply connected to our church’s mission to promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace. I am excited to support the spiritual growth and outreach of our mission center through clear, creative, and purposeful communication.
