Celebrating a New Ministry Role in Victoria

May 29th, 2026

Dear Members and Friends,

We are delighted to announce that Emma Ghazarian has been selected as the new Victoria Field Minister for the Australia Mission Centre.

Emma brings a deep love for Community of Christ, a warm pastoral presence, and a grounded sense of call to this ministry. Raised in Victoria, with much of her early discipleship formed within the Ferntree Gully Congregation, Emma now lives on the Mornington Peninsula with her husband, Sean, and their two daughters, Chloe and Hannah. She was ordained as an Elder in 2022 and has continued to offer faithful and generous ministry in Victoria, helping to develop new expressions of church and community life while also working as the Administrative Assistant for the Australia Mission Centre.

Emma has nurtured children’s ministries, online Tuesday Church discussions, home gatherings, retreats, and camps. Across these ministries, she has shown a gift for building relationships, creating spaces of welcome, and encouraging people to experience belonging, connection, and shared participation in Christ’s mission.

Emma’s start date has not yet been determined as we take care to support a smooth and thoughtful transition. Further details will be shared as timing is confirmed.

Please join us in warmly congratulating Emma and holding her and her family in prayer as she prepares for this next faithful step in ministry. We are grateful for the gifts Emma offers so generously and for the blessing her leadership will bring to this role and to our faith community.

With Gratitude,

Meredith Carr

A message from Emma:

I feel a great sense of honour and excitement towards serving the Victorian Church Community, a community that has deeply shaped my faith, my personal growth, my ministry, and my sense of belonging within the larger World Church community.

I have learned so much during my three years working for the Mission Centre as an Administrative Assistant, alongside six years of volunteering with new expressions of church and ministry, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to dedicate more of my time and focus towards supporting Victorian ministries -  learning from our collective history, resilience, and the seasons of change we've already journeyed through together.

I look forward to partnering with our current and emerging leaders, listening, learning, and discerning alongside each other as we seek to remain attentive to where God’s Spirit may be leading our community, responding to new opportunities for ministry with courage, care, and a respect for the wisdom and gifts already present within the Victorian community.
