Where Two or More are Gathered by Emma Ghazarian

Last Sunday night, a small group of friends gathered at Jenny Robinson's home for dinner and Communion. We shared a meal, swapped stories from World Conference and shared what’s been unfolding in our lives.

After dinner, we cleared the table, dimmed the lights, and made room for bread and wine. Our special guest, Lach Mackay, led us through the story of the Road to Emmaus. He described the moment when disciples, lost in grief and confusion, encountered the risen Jesus along their journey and finally recognised him in the breaking of bread.

Our conversation shifted from casual and light to thoughtful and reflective. We spoke about where we place our focus and attention and how easy it is to become distracted, to walk away from the sacred without even noticing. And we reflected on how deeply we need moments like this, to return, to remember, to realign.

In that space, the bread was broken, the wine (juice) poured, and we remembered why we gather; we remembered why moments like these, shared together, matter. Experiences like this are essential for my own spiritual journey, not always bound by walls but rooted in story and shared vulnerability.

Thank you to Jenny and Mark for opening their home and making space for this gathering. And thank you to each person around the table for your presence, your stories, and the Spirit you brought to the Communion table.
