Hello! I’m Calee Loughran, and I am thrilled to join the Australian Community of Christ team as Communications Coordinator.

I grew up in the U.S. where I attended a small Community of Christ congregation in rural Oklahoma. I developed a deep spiritual foundation through Sunday church, youth and family camps each summer, and eventually attending Graceland University. ..

Like all things, Knit & Knatter at Tuncurry started from small beginnings, with a few ladies gathering each month to do exactly what the name suggests: knit and natter. We also crochet, sew, share conversations on a wide range of topics, and build relationships with one another.

Australians Rick Sarre and Lisa Yen are part of this year’s World Conference announcements regarding the World Church’s Standing High Council, one concluding his service, and the other beginning a new chapter.

What an incredible, spirit filled week  the Australian Delegation have experienced at World Conference. Over and over I am hearing from Conference attendees that there is a shift in atmosphere, an uplifting energy and a movement towards change. It is the Spirit of hope.

Greetings from the basement of the auditorium, where I am gathered with 200 leaders from mission centres from every continent for the next 3 days to worship, learn, share and dialogue about some of the 'big questions' we are wrestling with as a community.

While our congregational buildings are all safe at this stage, we know our members on the Coast are rallying within their localities to give assistance.  This week we celebrate Volunteer Week…

IDAHOBIT stands for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia. Celebrated each year on May 17, it’s a global day of recognition and solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people around the world. The day raises awareness about the discrimination and violence still faced by many in these communities, while also celebrating love, identity, and the power of inclusion.

As we reflect on the recent Mission Centre Conference, both onsite and online, there’s a quiet sense that something meaningful unfolded among us, something rooted in deep listening, courageous sharing, and the ongoing work of becoming.

Throughout the day, we found ourselves gathered around stories of impact, possibility, and transformation…

It is with great joy that I share that the visas of Meredith and Dennis Carr have been APPROVED after a long 9-month wait. They will relocate to Australia in July 2025.

Perth Easter camp has become a sacred tradition!  This year was no exception.  Up to 30 folks of all ages gathered over the weekend to share fun, worship, classes, campfire, recreation and lots of food (eating six times a day!). 

Can you remember when you attended kids camp? The anticipation of going away independently? Sleeping in bunk beds in rooms of similar aged kids? The uncertainty of what the week would hold..
